Hanse Plans Premium 78 Sports Sloop

A swimming pool on 78-foot sailing yacht may be considered a tad decadent, but Hanse is calling on owners to let their imaginations run wild with its highly customisable new Premium range.
The German yacht maker today released digital renders of its top-end 24-metre Premium 78, revealing virtually unprecedented scope for owner input in a production built sailing yacht.
Among a raft of tantalising options is a flexible foredeck space, which can be converted for tender storage, a sun lounge or a small swimming pool.
Also open to owner input is the interior design and layout with Hanse promising “an impressive array of selected wood finishes, upholstery, fabrics and interior layouts”.
In recent years, Hanse has been expanding into large luxury yachts, starting with the 630s model which has to date sold over 60 units.
The move into semi-custom luxury yachts spawned the creation of a new business unit called the “Premium Class department”.
This new design is the first fruits of the new department, and features large spaces on deck, a coachhouse roof with loads of glass and a superyacht-style transom swim platform with space for a tender, jet ski or scuba diving gear.
The Judel/Vrojlk hull has the high freeboard design typical of Hanse yachts. Built from epoxy construction and fitted with a carbon rig, the only thing Hanse says is a non-negotiable with the Premium 78 are her performance and “her exceptionally seaworthy hull and deck”.
The first boat is slated for delivery some time in 2012 or early 2013.
